Highway Planning and Assets Management

highway planning

The key research areas are determining highway capacities considering local traffic and roadway conditions, study the impact of highway work-zones, developing methodologies for highway project evaluation.

Pavement management is the process of planning maintenance of road networks in order to optimize the pavement conditions during their life cycle. Key areas of research under pavement management are developing novel techniques for roughness evaluation, development of pavement management systems for low volume roads and pavement performance modelling, pavement friction evaluation.
